2013 CLE Announcement

September 17th, 2012

Salvete Amici!

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2013 Classical Literacy Exam!
This is The Fourth Annual Classical Literacy Exam; almost 1200 students participated in the
exam last year. We will again be awarding certificates and medals for high achievement.

We have finalized the 2013 CLE List of Terms. Please remember that these lists are for study
only; they are not to be used when taking the exam. The Introductory, Level II, and Level III lists
are unchanged from last year. The Level I list no longer includes the terms from the Introductory
list; rather, the Level I test now requires knowledge of the Introductory List and the Level I list.
There are new terms as well on the Level I list. As before, each exam requires knowledge of the
list for that level as well as the lists for all lower levels.

Also posted on our site (http://www.abqlatin.org) are the tests and answers from 2010-2012.

We welcome your questions and suggestions and thank you for your interest in the CLE and
the promotion of classical literacy. Feel free to contact the CLE Co-Chair Luke Malone
(clechair@abqlatin.org) or Hugh Himwich (himwich@aa.edu) with any questions you might
have.

Excelsior!

Amici,

We have finalized the 2012 CLE List of terms. They are similar to last year’s lists, but several words have been removed, several added, and duplicates removed. Please remember that these lists are for study only, they are not to be used when taking the exam.

We hope you will consider participating in the Classical Literacy Exam this year. Registration forms must be postmarked in January. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Sincerely,
